New publication: “Bayes’ theorem: A historical idea with various applications”
Katrin Wölfel discusses in an article the intuitive idea behind Bayes’ theorem from a historical perspective and explains how problems from various disciplines can be solved “Bayesian”. “Bayes’ theorem is one of the best known theorems of probability theory. If one derives it primarily formally, the original idea of regarding the probability of causalities is lost. But for using the theorem to solve various problems, this basic idea is, however, of great importance” (from the abstract). The article is published in “Stochastik in der Schule” 36(1), pages 15 to 21 (in German).
